My Story

I joined Scentsy in July 2013. At the time I was working full time, I was doing portrait photography on the side, I had a newborn and decided to join two direct sales businesses at the same time!

Holy Moly I had my hands full. By the end of 2013 I had fallen inactive with Scentsy. I struggled to juggle everything on my plate with the little time I had available.

In December of 2014 I was still active with the second direct sales company and had just purchased a pricy airline ticket to the national convention. Less than a month later, the company closed it’s doors. We were in total shock! We had no idea it was coming. Luckily for us, our competitor company took us all in.

However, that came at a cost. In order to keep my deep discount I would need to purchase yet another kit, over $700, after I had just purchased a large starter kit 6 months prior.

One month later in February I left my full time job unexpectedly. I had been unhappy and had quite honestly, lost my passion for the position. Two weeks later my husband deployed to Afghanistan.

It was in April 2014 when I made the decision to leave the new company. I had invested $7000 all on credit into stock and purchasing supplies I thought was necessary to  run a business.

Now I was at home with both children, my husband was on the other side of the world. I had no extra income coming in from working, or either of the direct sales businesses. My husband would be home in October so I had to figure what I was going to do. There was no way my family could survive on one income once he returned.

In August my previous sponsor reached out to me about the opportunity to come back to Scentsy. I told her I wasn’t interested. Then my previous director also reached out to me about coming back to Scentsy. I had watched Angela on Facebook having so, so much success with Scentsy and it seemed like she was always traveling! I wanted that too!

I thought about it for just a bit and then made the decision to come back! When I came back to Scentsy I was still an Escential Consultant. I hadn’t even made one promotion before leaving Scentsy the first time. I promised myself this time would be different, because hey, if Angela could do it, why couldn’t I?!

I officially re-joined Scentsy in September of 2014. In that same month I had two people join my team and I double promoted to Lead Consultant, that felt really good! By February I had a team of 11 and I promoted once again to Star Consultant!

I wanted to see just how quickly our team could grow, so I started really working on offering the Scentsy opportunity to everyone! The following month I promoted again! This time to Superstar consultant with a team of 14.

In May of 2015 we started working towards our summer incentive to earn a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico for Scentsy leadership retreat. I knew in order to earn the cruise I would need to work on growing my team, so from May to July I really set my focus on offering the Scentsy opportunity.

By the end of July I had earned the trip with a team of 34! My husband and I had been married for 5 years and had never taken a trip together so I invited him to join me! But it gets even better… in March of 2015 my sister-in-law, Jessica, joined my Scentsy team and by the end of July she had ALSO earned the cruise!

In July Of 2015 I also went to my very first Scentsy Family Reunion in Las Vegas! I can’t even begin to tell you how truly remarkable the whole experience was! I had the opportunity to learn from the best of the best, watch new products be unveiled, bond with my fellow consultants, watch breathtaking entertainment, and be inspired listening to other consultants stories and how Scentsy is changing lives.

The following month in August I promoted to Director with a team of 45! What, Director?! In less than a year after coming back to Scentsy!

Since then I have had the opportunity to travel to Boise, Idaho to attend Scentsy Director Bootcamp at our home office. I have traveled to Nashville, TN and had the opportunity to see a private show at the Grand Ole Opry with Scentsy as part of our Scentsy Family Reunion at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, another trip I earned.

I also watched the KC Royals play with hundreds of other consultants as our CEO, Orville Thompson, threw the opening pitch, as part of our Family Reunion in Kansas City, Kansas. I got to overlook Time Square from the Marriott at Scentsy Leadership retreat in NYC.

In June of 2018 my husband and I went on a Mediterranean Cruise, another earned incentive trip with Scentsy. The views, the smells, the memories made on that trip will last a lifetime. Part of my heart will always belong to Italy.

Currently, I am residing in Germany! My family and I have lived here nearly 4 years since the Air Force sent my husband here. In just a few short months we will be moving back to the U.S.

Moving can be trying for any business, let alone moving OVERSEAS! But guess what?! Scentsy gave me a REASON to get out there and meet new people. I had to regrow my circles of influence one new friendship at a time.

It also gave me the opportunity to really focus on building an online presence. Now, the majority of my business is done online. That means more time for travel and exploration!

I still make trips back to the US for Scentsy training. It’s nice to occasionally get to shop at Target, or head through an American drive-thru haha!

I am loving every minute of this life I have created for myself. I can only hope that you will have the same faith in yourself to take the leap! ❤️
